    Previous Art in the Park Event

ANA’s Art in the Park was again a fun and successful event attracting visitors and buyers
for the fourth year.  ANA members gathered in Wilson Park, set up paintings for sale and
easels for demonstrations, and spent a beautiful fall day painting and visiting with the
public. Paintings, prints and note cards by five artists were sold for a total of $812.50.

Our thanks goes to Jerry Plumlee, chair of the
event, and the many volunteers who helped
with  publicity and registration, and also to the
participating artists and visiting public for a
wonderful event promoting
ANA and art.

Although there were more people attending this year then previously, it was disappointing that from
over 200 artists in ANA, only 13 participated.




     Ann said, “We gave a
    party and no one came!”  











The biggest success was the children’s art table,
which was set up under Ann’s display tent.

Christie and Carol Roberts, for distributing flyers
at the Fayetteville Farmers Market and at
Imagination Station.
        6th Annual Wilson Park Art Walk
    2009

I would like to say a big thank you to the 20 artists and other volunteers who
participated in the Art in the Park on October 3, 2009. This year’s event was
considered very successful. I think all the artists enjoyed getting out, painting,
showing their work and talking with the people who came to the park. The sales
were pretty good considering the uncertain economy. Chase Gipson of the
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation said “I think this years’ children’s art tent
activities was the best ever”. The weather was perfect, the Parks and Recreation
cooked their hot dogs, the Ozark Youth Philharmonic Orchestra played and Miss
Outstanding Teen Arkansas 2009 smiled and waved.
Personally, I was amazed at all the help extended by ANA members to make this
event happen. Overall, everything went very smoothly, although we were all tired
out by the end of the day. All I can say is I appreciate all the people in ANA.
